Northeast Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades, Bossier City, LA

Manchac was retained by Bossier City to prepare plans for the upgrade to its NE WWTP. This project consisted of the construction of a new 6 mgd influent pump station utilizing caisson style construction with a influent coarse bar screen channel, a new headworks complete with fine screening, grit removal and odor control, a new UV disinfection process, upgrade to the effluent pump station and a completely new electrical power feed system. The main purpose of this project was to consolidate all of the influent flow into one headworks so flow can be split properly across the process train. This plant discharged to the Red River through 7 miles of effluent force main. Manchac was successful in obtaining a new permit from LDEQ which will allowed the City to discharge to nearby Red Chute Bayou saving the City money on power costs and maintenance.
